Blue Roan Country Lodge offers self catering accommodation in tranquil surroundings in Magaliesburg on the West Rand, Gauteng.

Blue Roan is a 4 star graded venue, our goal being to provide high quality, romantic, comfortable and affordable self-catering accommodation on the outskirts of the village of Magaliesburg.  For animal lovers, we are also pet-friendly by arrangement in some of the units.

Blue Roan Country Lodge is situated just 5 minutes from the village of Magaliesburg on a tar road.  We have panoramic views of the Magaliesberg mountain range and our farm is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway in the country.  As we are only 70kms from JHB and Pretoria, it is only an hour’s drive.

We have 7 lovely brick self-catering units, each one private and with its own character and theme.  They are designed exclusively for couples wanting a romantic and peaceful place to connect, re-connect, celebrate special occasions or somewhere quiet and comfortable to come for a holiday.  For this reason, we do not accept groups or children, but we are pet-friendly by arrangement as each unit is fenced and has its own garden.  We also have lovely safe off-leash walking trails on our property and beyond.  Our units are very luxurious with everything you would need and very homely and charming.

The 7 units, although different in design and layout, all have the same facilities:-

There is a sparkling blue rock swimming pool with lapa and cooking facilities, as well as a games room with a pool table, darts, games and a library of dvds.

THE BARN
This is an open plan unit with lots of windows with a raised king bed on a platform facing the TV and the mountains.   It has a separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower and oval spa bath.The unit has sliding glass doors opening onto a large patio with a brick braai and comfortable outside furniture.  It has a small enclosed garden.

THE TUSCAN SUITE
This is an open plan unit with a raised king bed on a platform facing the TV and the mountains.  It has a separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower and oval spa bath.The unit has sliding glass doors opening onto a covered patio with a brick braai and comfortable outside furniture.  It has a small fenced and gated garden.

BLUEBUSH
It has one bedroom with a corner shaped spa bath in the corner of the bedroom, separate bathroom with large walk-in shower and an open plan living area opening onto a covered patio with comfortable outside furniture.  It has a large fenced and gated garden with a brick braai.

THE MEXICAN LOFT
This is an open plan unit with a corner shaped spa bath close to the bed, separate bathroom with huge walk-in shower and an open plan living area opening onto a covered patio with brick braai and comfortable outside furniture.  It has a small fenced and gated garden.

ACACIA
This is the largest unit.  It has one bedroom, separate bathroom and spacious open plan living area opening onto a covered patio with brick braai and comfortable outside furniture.  It has a large fenced and gated garden.

THE GREEK VILLA
This is our latest luxury unit.  Designed in a Greek villa style, it has one bedroom, separate bathroom, Jacuzzi room, kitchen, dining area and spacious open plan living area opening onto a large covered patio with built-in red brick braai and outdoor fireplace. The unit has super comfortable furniture inside and out.  It has a large fenced and gated garden but no pets in this one.

THE HONEYMOON SUITE
This is an open plan unit attached to the side of the main house, completely private with its own entrance, own garden and carport.  It has a king bed facing the TV and a separate bathroom with a huge walk-in shower and oval spa bath. The unit has a glass door opening onto a private covered patio with a brick braai and comfortable outside furniture.  It has a fenced and gated garden with a hammock and outside garden furniture. (no pets in this one)
